Drive up to eight external monitors

AMD FirePro EyeFinity graphics combined with Thunderbolt 3 enable this laptop to drive up to six external monitors at FHD (1920×1080) resolution via a single Thunderbolt 3 cable. Add a USB dock to drive two more monitors for eight total external monitors, plus the laptop LCD.

Digital Tigers offers unique Thunderbolt 3 and USB multi-monitor adapters and docks tested and certified for this laptop. In addition, we offer complete packages with Zenview multi-screen displays, such as Zenview Atlas 24 IPS Thin shown above. Here's what's possible for external monitors with adapters and docks, using only one or two cables connected to the laptop:

Easy multi-monitor connectivity via Thunderbolt 3

Drive up to six external monitors via a single Thunderbolt 3 cable! This Dell Precision 3510 makes it possible, thanks to an AMD FirePro dedicated graphics controller with six-monitor AMD EyeFinity technology.

Digital Tigers unleashes this power with our Thunderbolt 3 adapter below in tandem with dual 3-port DisplayPort hubs. Everything is plug and play: no driver required, and no impact on CPU performance. The internal laptop screen is also available as an optional independent monitor, driven by Intel HD graphics, or can be disabled with the lid closed.

SideCar T3D2: Thunderbolt 3 to dual DisplayPort adapter This adapter plugs into a Thunderbolt 3 port and provides two DisplayPort 1.2 ports, each supporting up to 4K UHD (3840×2160) resolution @60Hz. Each downstream port also supports a DisplayPort MST hub (see right). An alternative Thunderbolt 3 to dual HDMI adapter is also available. DVI adapter dongles are optional.		SideCar DD3: 3-port DisplayPort hub This hub breaks out three DispayPort ports from a single DisplayPort 1.2 port. Each of the three downstream ports supports up to 1920×1200 resolution @60Hz. Alternatively, using only two ports enables up to QHD (2560×1440) or WQXGA (2560×1600) resolution @60Hz. An alternative 4-port HDMI hub is also available, supporting four HDMI monitors up to FHD (1920×1080) resolution. In addition, optional HDMI and DVI adapter dongles are available for the DisplayPort hub.

Triple-monitor USB 3.0 dock

With our amazing USB 3.0 dock, you can connect up to three monitors plus five USB devices, Gigabit Ethernet, a headset and speakers — all with a single USB 3.0 connection!

What's more, this dock can be combined with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity to support a total of eight (or nine) external monitors. Six monitors are connected via Thunderbolt 3, and two or three monitors are connected via this dock. The internal laptop screen is also available as an optional independent monitor, or can be disabled with the lid closed.

Ultra-fast PCI Express NVMe SSD (optional) This laptop model is equipped standard with a traditional hard drive. However, a variety of SSD (solid state drive) upgrades are available, which deliver much faster performance and reliability. These include the latest PCI Express (PCIe) SSDs using NVMe technology, which are 3X to 6X as fast as conventional SSDs. We strongly recommend these SSD upgrades for all users. NVMe SSDs use the PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 x4 bus, which is 4000 MB/s, much faster than the 600 MB/s SATA bus used by conventional SSDs. What's more, the new NVMe interface exploits the faster PCIe bus through a more efficient I/O protocol, enabling many more I/O operations per second and throughput approaching the theoretical limit of the PCIe bus. Note: Thunderbolt 3 ports also operate as 10 Gb/s USB-C ports (USB 3.1 Type C).

Thunderbolt 3 is based on the DisplayPort 1.2 specification and can support up to 2 streams (8 lanes) of DisplayPort 1.2 video bandwidth, as well as 100W power. This bandwidth capable of supporting the following display modes on a single cable connection:

• 2 × 4K UHD displays (3840×2160 resolution @60Hz)
• 4 × WQXGA displays (2560×1600 resolution @60Hz) or QHD/WQHD displays (2560×1440 resolution @60Hz)
• 6 × WUXGA displays (1920×1200 resolution @60Hz) or FHD displays (1920×1080 resolution @60Hz)

However, the number of external displays is also limited by the graphics controller. This laptop has an AMD FirePro graphics controller that can drive up to six external displays, when the internal laptop screen is either disabled or switched to the Intel graphics controller (hybrid graphics mode).
